Commission OKs plan for gas facilities
The Washington County Planning Commission unanimously approved a site plan for propane gas facilities at the Westfields housing subdivision on the west side of Sharpsburg Pike.
The site plan, submitted in December 2004 by Thompson Gas Inc., calls for placing an underground, 60,000-gallon propane tank on the eastern portion of the property within two years. That permanent tank will be completed in phase four of the development's build-out, planning commissioners said.
Washington County Commissioner and Planning Commissioner James Kercheval said a temporary location, including six, 1,000-gallon tanks that will be placed above ground, will be used in the interim. The temporary tanks will be on the northern portion of the property and can serve about 130 units.
Buildings OK'd for Pennsylvania Avenue
The Washington County Planning Commission approved a site plan to place office buildings on Pennsylvania Avenue, across from North Point Drive.
