COVE, Pa. - Adam Wiestling scored 20 points and had seven rebounds Monday to lead Greencastle to a 62-58 victory over Susquenita (2-11).

Jaren Gembe added 16 points for the Blue Devils (5-9) while Erick Burkholder added 10 points and six rebounds and Treavor Gelsinger had 11 assists.

East Pennsboro 55 Waynesboro 52

ENOLA, Pa. - Scott Livengood scored 13 points as Waynesboro lost to East Pennsboro (8-5).

Jordan Reitz had 11 points for the Indians (8-7) while Josh Arendt added nine points and John Long pulled down six rebounds.


Petersburg 48 Berkeley Springs 44

PETERSBURG, W.Va. - Emily McCoy had 13 points and pulled down 13 rebounds for Berkeley Springs, but the Indians fell short against Petersburg (10-1), West Virginia Class AA's top-ranked team.


"This game was a defining moment of the season for us and the girls put out a good effort" said Berkeley Spring coach Dale McCumbee.

Heather Shaw added 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Indians (3-4).

West Perry 52 No. 7 James Buchanan 49

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Shaina Martin had 19 points and seven rebounds for James Buchanan in a loss to West Perry (10-3). Leanna Cristofano added 10 points for the Rockets (9-5) while Alicia Meyers and Kayla Myers each scored eight points.

East Pennsboro 51 Waynesboro 32

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Jess Miller had 15 points and nine rebounds while Amanda Hykes scored 11 points for Waynesboro (1-12) in its loss to East Pennsboro (6-7).

Northern Bedford 43 McConnellsburg 35

LOYSBURG, Pa. - Mandi DeShong had 10 points and 10 rebounds for McConnellsburg in a loss Northern Bedford (7-7, 5-4) in the Sideling Hill League.

Hillary DeShong added nine points for McConnellsburg (3-10, 1-7) while Dani Paruch had eight points and seven rebounds.

Frederick Home School 41, Leesburg 21

LEESBURG, Va. - Kimberly Passarelli had 15 points and four steals while Kali Phillips had 12 points and six rebounds as Frederick Home School defeated Leesburg.

Goretti 35, Grace 15

Jessica Myers sustained a serious injury in the third quarter after scoring 11 points to help stake Goretti to a lead.

The game was suspended after Myers' injury. Megan Cox led Grace with six points.

The game may be completed at a later date.


Goretti 69, Hancock 20: Kevin Breslin scored 19 points and Cornez Mattox scored 16 points to lead Goretti (4-1) over Hancock (0-6). Matt McCoy scored nine for Hancock.


Springfield Middle 48, Martinsburg North 42: Jordan Reed scored 14 points and Cory Garletts added 12 to lead Springfield Middle.

Tyree Munroe had nine for Martinsburg North.


Boonsboro Girls Elementary

Marshall Automative 21, Nutter's Ice Cream 10: Kayla Pain, Cara Ferguson, and Amber Myers scored six points each to lead Marshall Automative. Alyssa Koon had six points for Nutter's Ice Cream.

Old Line Graphics 21, A.L. Slifer 18: Kim Seabright scored 12 for Old Line Graphics. Emily Lum scored 10 for A.L. Slifer.


Elks host Hoop Shoot

Hagerstown Elks Lodge No. 378 will be holding a "hoop shoot" contest for all county school children ages 8-13 on Saturday at 9 a.m. at St. Maria Goretti.

The winners will advance to the Elks West District Hoop Shot on Jan. 29, also at Goretti.

The West District consists of Maryland lodges in Cumberland, Oakland, Frostburg, Hagerstown, Frederick and Westminster.

West District champion will advance to the state competition in Frederick, Md., on Feb. 19.
