CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The mother of a woman killed Monday in a two-vehicle accident was listed in critical condition Tuesday with injuries she received in the same accident, according to a spokeswoman at Hershey (Pa.) Medical Center.

Eileen Naugle, 58, of 13790 Molly Pitcher Highway, Lot 19, Greencastle, Pa., was flown to Hershey by Life Lion helicopter following the 12:43 p.m. accident in which her daughter, Melissa K. Kuhn, 28, of the same address, was killed, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Franklin County Coroner Jeffrey R. Conner said an autopsy performed Tuesday at Lehigh Valley Medical Center in Allentown, Pa., showed that Kuhn died of blunt-force multiple trauma. She was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash in the 6000 block of Molly Pitcher Highway near Marion, Pa.

Kuhn was a passenger in the 1984 Toyota Tercel her mother was driving, police said.

Naugle was driving the Tercel south when a northbound 1999 Dodge Caravan crossed the center turn lane and collided head-on with the car. The driver of the Caravan, Amy Ruth Jones, 36, of Greencastle, was treated for her injuries at Chambersburg Hospital and released, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Trooper Jason Churney said Tuesday that the accident was under investigation and he could not comment on what might have caused the crash.

A relative of Naugle's was reached by telephone Tuesday, but she declined to comment.
