TOWSON, Md. - St. Maria Goretti lost its second straight game, falling to Towson Catholic 64-30 on Sunday in the Baltimore Catholic League.

The Gaels (8-5, 0-2) had only four players score, led by Joey Spierenburg's 12 points. Kevin Brashears and Gene Johnson shot a combined 0-for-18 from the floor.

Towson Catholic (12-1, 2-0) took full command of the game in the second half, outscoring Goretti, 31-10. Marcus Green led the winners with 17 points.

BALTIMORE - St. John's at Prospect Hall had its four-game win streak halted easily by Mount St. Joseph's in MIAA 'A' Conference action.

St. Joseph's (11-1, 1-0) rolled to a 22-5 lead after the first quarter and, after a 30-16 halftime stop, went on a 22-1 run in the third quarter.

Ricky Henry led St. John's (7-6, 1-3) with seven points. Louis Birdsong had 13 points for St. Joseph's.
