County homicides in 2004

Following is information about the five homicides in Washington County in 2004.

Jonathan M. Dennis, 19, of Waynesboro, Pa., was fatally shot March 14 at Washington Gardens Apartments on Security Road in Hagerstown.

Azaniah Blankumsee, 26, whose last known address before his arrest was 658 N. Prospect St. in Hagerstown, was convicted Dec. 3 by a Washington County Circuit Court jury on charges of felony murder, armed robbery and 26 other charges in connection with Dennis' death. A date for Blankumsee's sentencing has not been set, according to court records.

His co-defendant, Tyshawn Jones, 23, whose last known address before his arrest was 113 S. Locust St. in Hagerstown, was charged with first- and second-degree murder and related charges.

A trial on those charges is set for next week. Police allege he fired the fatal shot with a .22-caliber gun.




Ali Aubae Robinson, 28, was found shot to death at about 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 21 in his home at 10719 Timothy Drive in Halfway. His live-in girlfriend, Carrie Nicole Simmons, found the father of four and former North Hagerstown High School football and wrestling standout dead. Police have not charged anyone in his death.




A woman found the body of Curtis Eugene Hill Sr., 46, beneath a tree near Russo's Rx Pharmacy on North Cannon Avenue in Hagerstown on Nov. 3. He had been beaten.

Larry W. Shriner, 21, whose last known address was 13720 Village Mill Drive in Maugansville, and Justin Kyle Marshall, 17, whose last known address was 12022 Sherwood Drive in Hagerstown, each were charged Nov. 4 with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, attempted robbery and attempted theft less than $500, according to charging documents.




After being admitted to a hospital with extensive bruising on Oct. 26, Madyson King, 3, died Nov. 9 at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Her father, Scott Eugene Patterson, 26, of 330 N. Mulberry St. in Hagerstown, initially was charged with beating her. He was charged on Nov. 12 with second-degree murder and related charges in connection with her death.




William Keith Grant, 46, sole proprietor of Affordable Homes Inc. in Falling Waters, W.Va., died of multiple gunshot wounds and his girlfriend, Cathy Louise Myers, was critically wounded at Myers' 12057 Kemps Mill Road home in the Williamsport area in the early morning of Nov. 15.

Myers' former boyfriend, Steven Linn Barr, 41, of 808 Hamilton Blvd. in Hagerstown, was charged with first- and second-degree murder, attempted first- and second-degree murder and related charges in connection with the shootings.
