Ronald W. Sprandel, 66


DEC. 31, 1937-DEC. 28, 2004

FRANKFORD, Del. - Ronald W. Sprandel, 66, of Frankford, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at Harbor Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Lewes, Del.

Born Dec. 31, 1937, in Scranton, Pa., he was the son of the late Ralph and Viola Kunz Sprandel.

He was a member of American Legion Post 28 of Millsboro, Del., and B.P.O. Elks Lodge 378 of Hagerstown.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Nancy L. Sprandel; one daughter, Sheryl Sprandel of Frankford; and three sons, Craig Sprandel of Port Orange, Fla., Robin Heath of Washington, D.C., and Michael Heath of San Francisco.

Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium in Clarksville, Del.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 1151 Walker Road, Suite 202, Dover, DE 19901.

Ray C. Fitz Sr., 84

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Ray C. Fitz Sr., 84, of The Village of Laurel Run and formerly of 11713 Anthony Highway, Waynesboro, Pa., died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at the nursing home.

Born Oct. 12, 1920, in Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., he was the son of the late Frank and Dora Carson Fitz.

He attended school in Monterey and Washington townships in Pennsylvania.

Prior to retiring in 1978, he was in charge of maintenance at the Dutch Cupboard in Gettysburg, Pa., and Hickory Bridge Restaurant in Orrtanna, Pa.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a member of Hawley Memorial Presbyterian Church in Blue Ridge Summit, and served as an elder.

He was a member and past president of Fountaindale Volunteer Fire Co., a member of Adams County Fire Police, Pennsylvania State Fire Police, Cumberland Valley Firemen's Association and taught hunter's safety courses at Blue Ridge Sportsman Association.

He had been a deputy game warden for the Pennsylvania Game Commission.

He is survived by his wife, Betty J. Bowman Fitz, whom he married March 7, 1945; one daughter, Mary A. B. Souders of Waynesboro; one son, Ray C. Fitz Jr. of Fairfield, Pa.; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Ethel Sease Fitz; one daughter, Sandra K. Fitz; one sister, Nelda Harbaugh; one brother, Richard L. Fitz Sr.; and one half brother, Paul Fitz.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home in Waynesboro. The Rev. Eugene M. Kline will officiate. Burial will be in Fountaindale Union Cemetery with military services by the Honor Guard of VFW Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 of Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.




Elvira P. Discepoli, 83

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Elvira Pauline "Vera" Discepoli, 83, of Laural Run Nursing Home, and formerly of 340 W. Eighth St., Waynesboro, Pa., died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at Waynesboro Hospital.

Born Nov. 10, 1921, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Mary Ardito Fitz.

She was a 1939 graduate of Hagerstown High School.

She worked for Acacia Mutual Insurance in Washington, D.C., as a computer analyst for 25 years.

She attended Otterbein United Brethren in Christ Church in Waynesboro.

She was a member of the local and national AARP and Waynesboro Hospital Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Eleanor Alsip and one brother, Albert Discepoli.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Lochstampfor Funeral Home in Waynesboro. The Rev. Phil Zook will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery.

The viewing will be private.

Ellen L. Keyfauver, 80

SHARPSBURG - Ellen Lillian Keyfauver, 80, of 17539 Snyders Landing Road, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Oct. 4, 1924, in Sharpsburg, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mabel Cramer Grayson Mose.

She was employed by the Bureau of Public Roads.

She was a Christian.

She is survived by her husband, Ellis L. Keyfauver; one sister, Dorothy Catterton of Reston, Va.; two nieces; and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son, Erik Keyfauver; one sister, Anna M. Stockslager; and three brothers, Horace Grayson, Edward Grayson, and Wilfred Grayson.

Graveside services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery in Sharpsburg. The Rev. Cherie J. Baker will officiate.

There will be no viewing.

The family requests the omission of flowers.

Memorial donations may be made to Sharpsburg Area Rescue Service, 110 W. Chapline St., Sharpsburg, MD 21782.

WILLIAMSPORT - Larry Wayne Nave, 52, of 15735 Fenton Ave., died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004, at his home.

Born March 17, 1952, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Alexander Bradley Jr. and Catherine Ellen Metz Nave.
