Livengood lifts Indians in OT

BOYS BASKETBALL



WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Scott Livengood scored six of Waynesboro's eight points in overtime to lift the Indians to a 55-50 Mid-Penn Capital win over Scotland on Tuesday night.

Livengood finished with 12 points, while Kevin Kline had 13 and Jordan Reitz had 10 to go with five assists for Waynesboro (4-4, 2-1). John Long had 12 rebounds, four blocks and three steals and Josh Arendt had eight points and three steals.

Jermal Ruffin had 16 points and Greg Robinson had 12 for Scotland (4-4, 1-2).

Walkersville 81, South Hagerstown 60


Jabari Brown had 17 points to lead five Walkersville players in double figures as the Lions rolled past winless South Hagerstown in MVAL nonconference action.

Luther Weedon had 14 points, while Dave Berry, Chris Hannigan and Brandon Geppart each added 13 for the Lions (3-1), who made 20 of 23 free throws and hit nine 3-pointers in the win. Berry had eight assists and six rebounds, Hannigan had six assists and six rebounds and Brown had seven rebounds.

Domonique Byrd led the Rebels (0-4) with 18 points, while Dametric Scott had 13 points, Jordan Beard had eight points and eight rebounds and Daviel Richardson had 10 assists.

Middletown 67, WIlliamsport 44


MIDDLETOWN, Md. - Jonathan Hall had 14 points to lead Middletown to an MVAL nonconference win over Williamsport.

Paul Crone and Joe Keimig each added 11 points and Zach Miss had eight for the Knights (4-1).

Phil Jordan led Williamsport (0-3) with 11 points, while Corey Broadwater and David Warrenfeltz each had eight.

St. John's PH 58, Bowling Brook 53


FREDERICK, Md. - Tanner Ellis had 22 points and eight rebounds to lead St. John's at Prospect Hall past Bowling Brook.

Gonzalo Aparicio had 15 points for the Vikings (4-5) while Kevin Henry added seven.

Hedgesville 80, Berkeley Springs 45


BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Matt Deaner had 24 points and Michael Lopez and Josh Robinson each scored 13 as Hedgesville (3-0) beat Berkeley Springs.

Ryan Morris scored 23 points and Tony Belt had 13 for the Indians (1-2).

Southern Fulton 54, Chestnut Ridge 48


WARFORDSBURG, Pa. - Arik Mills had 14 points and nine rebounds as Southern Fulton defeated Chestnut Ridge (4-2, 4-1) in the Sideling Hill League.

Brock Flowers added 10 points, three assists and three steals for the Indians (7-0, 4-0) while P.J. Hixon scored nine points.

Heritage 39, Grace 32


Zach Hartman had 11 points and five rebounds for Heritage Academy in its MDCC win over Grace Academy.

Travis Hendershot had nine points for the Eagles (6-1, 2-0) and Kevin Sandell added seven points and six rebounds.

A.J. Serafini scored 13 points for the Knights (2-3, 2-3).




GIRLS BASKETBALL



Middletown 56, Williamsport 43


WILLIAMSPORT - Whitney Boyer scored 18 points and Kristen Waeber had 10 for Middletown (4-1), which outscored Williamsport 40-17 in the second half, in the Knights' comeback victory.

Kellyn Cole had 14 points for the Wildcats (1-5) while Morgan Smith had eight.

North Hagerstown 52, Brunswick 39


Cara Thompson had a game-high 15 points as North Hagerstown used a 19-8 third-quarter run to pull away from Brunswick in the MVAL Anitetam.

Chelsea Clark had a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds and Thompson added nine rebounds and four assists for the Hubs (3-3, 2-0).

Alysia Birkholz had 10 points and Leah McCallum had 14 rebounds for Brunswick (0-5, 0-1).

James Buchanan 57, Big Spring 46


MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Alicia Myers scored 25 points to lead James Buchanan to a win over Big Spring (1-6, 1-2) in the Mid-Penn Captial Division.

Shaina Martin had 11 points and three steals for the Rockets (6-2, 3-0) while Leanna Cristofano had 10 points and three steals.

McDonogh 82, St. John's-PH 51


OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Marah Strickland had 16 points and seven rebounds, but St. John's at Prospect Hall was outscored 23-4 from the foul line in a loss to McDonogh.

Ashley Traylor had 12 points and Elise Boyle grabbed eight rebounds for the Vikings (1-8).

Strickland had 35 points and 12 rebounds and was named to the Bullis Tournament all-tourney team Sunday.

Heritage 60, Grace 22


Heather Stamper had a triple-double with 21 points, 18 rebounds and 10 steals as Heritage Academy romped past Grace Academy in Mason Dixon Christian Conference action.

Jessica Ellis had 13 points, Brittany Eberly had 10 and Whitney Schlimgen had eight to go with five assists for the Eagles (5-1, 2-0).

Megan Cox led Grace (1-5, 1-4) with 10 points.

Shippensburg 70, East Stroudsburg 45


SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - St. Maria Goretti graduate Marcus Hudson had 10 points and Waynesboro graduate Seth Scott added nine points and six rebounds as Shippensburg defeated East Stroudsburg.
