Chambersburg knocks off Central Dauphin

BOYS BASKETBALL



HARRISBURG, Pa. - Colby Nitterhouse had 12 points, including the game-winning layup with one second left, as Chambersburg beat Central Dauphin 67-65 on Wednesday.

Jonathan Motichka led Chambersburg with 21 points while Chas Rahauser added 18. Alan Bender had eight assists and Urese Taylor grabbed seven rebounds for the Trojans (5-1).

Southern Fulton 60 Clear Spring 31


CLEAR SPRING - Jay Ifert scored 12 points while P.J. Hixon and Jim Barlow each scored nine points as Southern Fulton defeated Clear Spring.

Scott Keeney had 13 points for the Blazers (0-3). Darren Jackson had 11 points and Corey Baker had nine rebounds.

Middletown 66, Frederick 56


MIDDLETOWN, Md. - Jonathan Hall had 24 points and Joe Keimig added 13 points, six assists, and six rebounds as Middletown defeated Frederick.

Patrick Carney scored 13 points for Middletown (2-1). Lenwood House led the Cadets (1-3) with 17 points.

Montrose 40, Mercersburg 33


MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Colin Cubit scored 11 points and Alex Tyler scored nine points for Mercersburg Academy in a loss to Montrose Christian, one of the top teams in Maryland.

Greencastle 77, Big Spring 55


GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Erick Burkholder scored 22 points as Greencastle beat Big Spring. Jaren Gembe added 13 points for the Blue Devils, while Darrin Jones and Adam Wiestling each scored 11 points.

Mercersburg splits


CAMP SPRINGS, Md. - Ryan Reid won a pair of matches at 160 pounds to remained undefeated for Mercersburg Academy, which beat Hyde School and lost to Progressive Christian Academy.

Tyler Mort (103) and Josh Edgin (215) each had two wins for the Blue Storm (6-1).

Match scores: Progressive Christian 44, Mercersburg 25; Mercersburg 73, Hyde 6.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Patrick Corley won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:19.10 for Jefferson (5-1).

Hill School Invitational


COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - For Mercersburg Academy, Rachael Hendrickson placed second in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 10.2 seconds. Christina Ongor finished fourth in the 55 with a time of 8.0 seconds and finished the 200 in 30.3 seconds. Claire Atkins finished sixth in the 400 in 1:07.2. Laura Diller finished ninth in the 1,600 in 5:58.6. Shemeica Binns placed second in the shot put with a distance of 29 feet, 5 inches.

Hill School Invitational


COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - Gunner Coil placed third in the high jump with a jump of 5 feet, 8 inches for Mercersburg Academy in the Hill School Invitational. Josh Light ran the 55-meter dash in 6.9 seconds and the 200 in 25.0 seconds. Chris Caranante finished the 400 in 63.8 seconds.

HCC 94, Southern Maryland 68


LA PLATA, Md. - David Miner scored 20 points and had nine rebounds for HCC as it beat Southern Maryland.

Momodou Jobe added 14 points for the Hawks (10-3), while Bernard Harris and Clif Carey each scored 12 points.

Mercyhurst 73, Shepherd 55


ERIE, Pa. - Danley Shank led Shepherd with 22 points as the Rams fell to Mercyhurst.

Darren Stackhouse scored 13 points while Yves Molina added nine rebounds for Shepherd (3-5).

Jawad Ali led all scorers with 31 points and added seven rebounds for Mercyhurst (4-5).
