Police probe shooting

The Hagerstown Police Department was investigating a shooting late Friday in the area of Washington Gardens Apartments on Security Road.

The shooting occurred around 11 p.m. A victim, who reportedly was shot in the calf, went to the Pangborn Heights apartment complex, which is next to Washington Gardens, after the shooting.

The victim was taken from the scene by ambulance.

A police officer was searching the grounds outside Washington Gardens before midnight. Yellow tape was wrapped around trees and across the parking lot at the complex.

No one had been taken into custody at press time. The investigation is continuing.
