Deputies release more details on burglaries

SHARPSBURG - Several burglaries and breaking and enterings were reported Wednesday in the Sharpsburg/Keedysville area that Washington County Sheriff's Department officials believe are linked, police said.

Deputies said the incidents occurred Wednesday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Tommytown, Keedysville, Smoketown, Neck, Dellinger and Falling Waters roads.

According to Sgt. Mark Knight, the incidents included:

· A breaking and entering of a home in the 16000 block of Dellinger Road reported at 5 p.m.

· A Nintendo GameCube worth $150 and $250 worth of damage to a knife display case at a home in the 8000 block of Neck Road reported at 5:30 p.m.

· Eight guns and a bottle of brandy worth $30 were reported stolen at 7 p.m. from a home in the 15000 block of Falling Waters Road. Approximately $1,000 in damage was done to the house.


The guns were a Remington 1100 shotgun worth $500, a Remington Model 660 rifle worth $700, two Argentine rifles worth $250 each, a Colt cavalry musket rifle worth $800, a Hatfield .50-caliber black powder rifle worth $500, a Remington 20-gauge shotgun worth $300 and a Ruger .22-caliber rifle worth $500.

· A home in the 6800 block of Smoketown Road was reported broken into at 2 p.m.

· Reported stolen from the 7000 block of Tommytown Road at 2:30 p.m. was $1,700 in cash.

· A breaking and entering was reported in the 6900 block of Tommytown Road at 2:30 p.m.

Sheriff's deputies respond to calls

The Washington County Sheriff's Department responded to the following calls Wednesday, according to Sgt. Mark Knight:

· A domestic incident in the 21000 block of Leitersburg Smithsburg Road was reported at 7 p.m.

· A window broken out of a Buick Park Avenue at the Park 'n Ride on Md. 632 near Interstate 70 was reported at 10:30 p.m. Damage was estimated at $100.

· A cell phone was reported stolen at 10:30 a.m. from a car in the first block of Park Drive in Boonsboro.

Hagerstown police respond to calls

The Hagerstown Police Department responded to the following calls in recent days, according to Sgt. Curtis Wood:

· A domestic violence incident was reported in the 900 block of Spruce Street at 1:33 a.m. Thursday.

· Damage to property in the 500 block of Liberty Street was reported at 7:59 p.m. Wednesday.

· A burglary in the 300 block of South Locust Street was reported at 8:04 p.m. Monday.

· Damage to and theft from a motor vehicle to the rear of the first block of East Washington Street was reported at 12:44 p.m. Monday.

· Destruction of property in the 200 block of North Potomac Street was reported at 12:06 p.m. Wednesday.

Reward offered in property destruction

WILLIAMSPORT - A reward is being offered in a property destruction incident on Cavalry Drive late last month, the Washington County Sheriff's Department said.

Deputies said 16835 Cavalry Drive, which is currently under construction, sustained damage on either Nov. 28 and Nov. 29. Finished walls on two floors of the home were destroyed, according to deputies.

Deputies ask that anyone with information on the incident call the department at 240-313-2170.
