In his second year back with the Indians, Rowland, who coached Berkeley Springs from 1986-99, helped turn the team, which was incomplete last year, into a fourth-place finisher at states.

Runner of the YearJr.North HagerstownArumugam is the Runner of the Year for the second straight year. He successfully defended his titles at the MVAL Antietam Conference and Washington County championships and was the Maryland Class 2A West champion. In perhaps his most impressive performance of the season, Arumugam won the Run from the Lions Den Invitational at Liberty High.Jimmy AtkinsSr.Clear SpringAtkins was the area's top performer at the Maryland state meet, placing fourth in the Class 1A race, and was the Washington County runner-up.Dillon GraceySr.James BuchananGracey placed third at the PIAA District 3-AA championships and was 12th overall and third among Class AA runners at the Mid-Penn championships.Jeremy EshlemanSr.ChambersburgEshleman placed 18th at the Mid-Penn championships and 37th at the PIAA District 3-AAA race, earning the Trojans' first berth at states since 1999.Marshal LawrenceSr.Thomas JohnsonLawrence was the Frederick County champion and the runner-up at both the Maryland Class 4A North and MVAL Chesapeake Conference meets.Morgan SowellSr.FrederickSowell was the best in the area the first half of the season, winning titles at the Don Stoner and Mountain Run invitationals.Jed YeattsJr.James BuchananYeatts was the runner-up at the PIAA District 3-AA championships and was sixth overall and first among Class AA runners at the Mid-Penn championships.Coach of the Year:Daryl HunsbergerJames BuchananHunsberger guided the Rockets to the Mid-Penn Capital Division title, a second-place finish at the PIAA District 3-AA championships and an eighth-place finish at states.
