Nonprofit forum planned

A community forum for nonprofit organizations will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Four Points hotel to distribute application booklets for the Waltersdorf/Henson Endowment Challenge, and to explain the application process.

The Community Foundation of Washington County invites representatives of 501-C-3 organizations in the foundation's service area to attend. All attendees must bring copies of their IRS determination letter and their most recent audit in order to be admitted to the forum.

The Waltersdorf family and The Henson Foundation each pledged $2.5 million over the next five years in matching monies on the condition that the Community Foundation implement a communitywide campaign in which a competitively selected group of nonprofit organizations in the Foundation's service area raises new endowments totaling $5 million.

Nonprofit organizations positioned to implement an endowment campaign are encouraged to participate in the forum by calling 301-745-5210. The application process will run through June 30, 2005.
