MVP Scott leads Raiders to title

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. -Waynesburg graduate Seth Scott scored 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds to earn most valuable player honors Saturday as Shippensburg University won the Wolf's Buss Lines Tournament with a 60-56 win over the College of Saint Rose.

Scott averaged 17 points and 9.5 rebounds for the tournament.

After back-to-back timeouts, Saint Rose looked to tie the game, but a steal by Shippensburg sophomore Jamal Williams and two more free throws with two seconds remaining sealed the victory for the Red Raiders.


South, West advance

Antoine Malone caught a 10-yard touchdown pass in the fourth overtime to lead the West to a 30-24 victory over the East in the semifinals of the Washington County Junior Football League Graduation tournament on Sunday at Martin Snook Park.

Malone's second touchdown of the game moved the West into Tuesday's final against the South, a 22-8 winner over the North.


Octaviol Taft ran for touchdowns of 30 and 74 yards and Sam Mills added a 24-yard touchdown catch before Malone caught his two 10-yard scores to win the game.

Alex Akers and Josh Conway each scored two touchdowns for the East.

Jovan Carter ran for a 5-yard score and added a two-point conversion kick to lead the South. Chris Condon scored on a 5-yard run and Brandon Grossett caught an 11-yard touchdown pass.

Michael Russ ran 87 yards for the North's only touchdown and Daquan Edwards added the conversion kick.

The Graduation Championship will begin at 6 p.m.
