"If Mr. Bush has done such a good job the past four years, then why is half of his Cabinet resigning? They are resigning off the Bush bandwagon faster than rats jumping off a sinking ship. What does that tell you about what they believe in? What does that tell you about Mr. Bush's philosophy for the next four years? It can't be that they support it. It's that they realize that Mr. Bush is not for this country. Yes, I know he was re-elected but that doesn't mean that he is the man for this country."

"I went into a shelter here in Hagerstown and it was the worst experience I've ever had in my life. The women (staff) there were mean, nasty and told me I had to do things that didn't even concern me. They cussed me, yelled and told me I could get out. And for what? Not agreeing with one of the workers there. The people there were all people who wanted to brag about getting pregnant five times by the age of 26 and their husband, boyfriends or whatever beating them and their kids over and over and then going back over and over and who got the most food stamps or vouchers for free stuff. You would never believe what goes on it these places. I pray to God that I'll never have to even think about going back to such an awful place."

"I would like to beg the city to stop fighting the hospital's move to Robinwood. I had an unfortunate experience of trying to get to a family member at the emergency room. After trying to find a parking space for several minutes, I ended up on the third floor of the parking deck, had to run down three flights of stairs because the elevator wasn't responding and the shuttle had just left. So I then had to run across the street, up the hill to my loved one. By the time I had gotten to the emergency room, they asked me if I was all right. Stop fighting and give the people of Washington County the hospital they deserve."

"Every day in the store parking lots, I see young people who are either racing to get a spot or waiting for a spot close to the store when there are plenty of parking spots farther out. Please, just be thankful that you are able to walk OK and park farther out. Leave the closer ones for the older people."

"In response to the person who called in about Mulberry, Locust and Jonathan streets being one lane or two. The rule of thumb is, if there is no center line in the middle of the street, it is one lane. Mulberry, Locust and Jonathan are all one lane. Some people think they should be used as two, but by law, they are only one lane."

"I think it's about time that the mayor and council keep their nose out of the hospital and stop spending useless money trying to stop them from building a new hospital. Put that money toward more police officers in the downtown area. You can't walk in the daytime or nighttime without being afraid of getting robbed. I am waiting to see how many students will actually attend the new college downtown. I know one thing, my son or daughter will never go downtown."

"To the School Board: My grandson goes to Potomac Heights school and it has been in need of a paint job for the past eight years and repairs need to be done outside the school, too. I have called the School Board and they said the money is not there. What is cheaper, painting or replacing the materials? Take a look at it, it's pathetic."

"I want to thank Travis, Kathy, Doug, Yvonne, Jeremy, April and Jayton, who put the beautiful poem in for Madyson. Thanks from the bottom of my heart. God bless you. This is from a member of Madyson's family."

"There is a Hagerstown church that never wants their employees to take a vacation, even though they are given vacation days. This is very un-godlike."

"I also believe that all the doctors should drop their malpractice insurance and make their patients sign papers stating that if anything happened, they weren't responsible. I think these lawsuits are high anyway."

"In regards to the top Cabinet members resigning from the Bush administration. Just another sign that even his top Cabinet members aren't happy with the way he is running the country. They probably voted for Kerry, hoping that Bush wouldn't get re-elected so they wouldn't have to resign."

"Whose business is it but the hospital's if they want to move or not? If the mayor and council got down to what they are in office for and be more concerned about the citizens, then Hagerstown would be a better place to live. To the person who likes tomatoes on their salad, if you would leave your number, I will be more than happy to give you a bushel of tomatoes."
