Cecil County Marine dies in Iraq

PORT DEPOSIT, Md. (AP) - A Marine from Cecil County was killed over the weekend in Iraq, the Defense Department announced Tuesday.

Cpl. Dale A. Burger Jr., 21, of Port Deposit, died Sunday as a result of enemy action in the Al Anbar province, according to a news release from the Defense Department. Burger was assigned to the 3rd Battalion of the 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, which is based at Camp Pendleton, Calif.

Burger is the fourth Marylander reported killed in Iraq in the past five days.

Man found trapped in car dies

WHITE MARSH, Md. (AP) - A man who was found trapped in a crashed car off an Interstate 95 ramp died shortly after being freed Tuesday, state police said.

Adam Moore, 42, of Baltimore, told rescuers that he had been trapped in the wreckage in a wooded area near the White Marsh interchange between I-95 and 695. for three days.


Moore was taken by ambulance to Franklin Square Hospital, where he died.

Troopers said a Maryland Transportation Authority maintenance crew spotted the crashed minivan about 2:30 p.m. when they were traveling on the ramp from the inner loop of I-695 to northbound I-95. The van had come to rest after hitting a large tree head-on.
