Man in fair condition following accident

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Hagerstown man injured in a two-vehicle accident Sunday afternoon was in fair condition Monday at Hershey (Pa.) Medical Center, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Warren C. Myers, 51, address unavailable, was flown by helicopter to Hershey following the 4 p.m. accident at the intersection of Warm Spring, Tallow Hill and Leafmore roads, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Two passengers in the other vehicle, a 15-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy, also were flown to Hershey. Police did not release their names, but Trooper Dale J. Brown said their injuries were not life-threatening.

"It was more precautionary for those two to be sent up," Brown said Monday.

Myers' passenger, Lois Ann Shaffer, 47, of Hagerstown, and Tammy Sue Smith, 37, of Chambersburg, the driver of the car in which the juveniles were riding, were treated at and released from Chambersburg Hospital, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Police said Myers was driving a 1999 Ford F-150 west on Tallow Hill Road. Witnesses told police the pickup went through the stop sign and into the path of the 1999 Buick LeSabre driven by Smith, which was going north on Warm Spring Road.

The pickup overturned after impact, police said.
