Police said Myers was driving a 1999 Ford F-150 west on Tallow Hill Road. Witnesses told police the pickup went through the stop sign and into the path of the 1999 Buick LeSabre driven by Smith, which was going north on Warm Spring Road.
The pickup overturned after impact, police said.
Gifts for military among items stolen
Christmas gifts for the military and ski equipment that were stolen were among the incidents the Hagerstown Police Department responded to in recent days.
· Reported at 11:02 a.m. Friday, two yellow 24-inch Columbia bicycles were found in the 700 block of Washington Avenue.
· Reported at 1:54 p.m. Friday, a Canon video camera worth $279 was reported stolen from the 300 block of Summit Avenue.
· Ski equipment valued at $2,200 was reported stolen from the 200 block of South Potomac Street at 6:34 p.m. on Friday.
· A second-degree assault was reported in the first block of South Potomac Street at 1 a.m. Saturday.
· A burglary in which $30 was taken was reported in the 1400 block of Haven Road at 1:49 p.m. Saturday.
· Approximately 30 Christmas presents for the military valued at an estimated $1,000, were reported stolen from a vehicle at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center Antietam Creek, 901 Dual Highway, at 2:29 p.m. Saturday.
· A black, two-door 2001 Ford Explorer with Maryland registration M923094 was reported stolen from the 1000 block of Florida Avenue at 2:41 p.m. Saturday.
· An animal bite was reported in the 200 block of East Magnolia Avenue at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
· A camera phone valued at $400 was reported stolen from the 1700 block of Dual Highway at 10:31 p.m. Sunday.
· Money and jewelry were reported stolen from the 800 block of West Washington Street at 5:45 p.m. Sunday.
· A Sprint flip-style camera valued at $385 was reported stolen from the 700 block of Wilson Boulevard at 2 a.m. Saturday.
Robberies probed in Chambersburg
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Borough police were investigating an armed robbery Saturday at a gas station.
The robber walked into M&M Self-Service at 17 W. King St., at 1:54 p.m., pulled a silver handgun and demanded all the cash from the register, police said. The clerk was not injured, police said.
The robber was described as white, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, clean-shaven and in his early 20s, police said. The man was wearing a white fleece coat with what police described as distinctive black markings all over it.
A second man waited outside while the robbery took place, police said. That man, whose race was unknown, was wearing a navy blue or black knit cap, a navy blue or black zippered jacket, a greenish-brown shirt and blue jeans, police said.
Police also were investigating a strong-arm robbery that occurred at 8:12 a.m. Saturday in the north parking lot of Chambersburg Hospital, 112 N. Seventh St.
Police said a woman was standing in the parking lot when a man grabbed her purse and ran in the direction of North Seventh Street.
The robber was white, 5 feet 6 inches tall and clean-shaven, with a medium build and brown hair, according to police. He was wearing a dark knit cap, possibly with a yellow stripe, a dark blue or green zippered sweatshirt and blue jeans, police said.
