Five are taken to Pa. hospitals following accident

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Three people were flown by helicopter to Hershey (Pa.) Medical Center following a two-vehicle accident Sunday in Hamilton Township, according to a Franklin Fire Co. official.

The accident happened at 4 p.m. at the intersection of Warm Spring and Leafmore roads, according to a Franklin County 911 Center dispatcher. Two helicopters were called to the scene, according to the dispatcher.

According to the fire company official, the accident involved a car and a pickup truck. One of the injured had to be freed from the cab of the pickup, which rolled over in the accident, the official said.

In addition to the three people flown to Hershey, two others were taken by ambulance to Chambersburg Hospital, according to the official.

The accident is being investigated by Pennsylvania State Police, but no details were available Sunday night.
