Police looking for robber in Waynesboro

November 12, 2004

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Waynesboro police said Thursday they were looking for a man who, armed with a knife taped to his hand, robbed a female convenience store clerk shortly after noon Wednesday.

There were no injuries and the robber only managed to "get a couple of bucks," a store employee, said Thursday.

According to police, the robber entered Zack's Convenience Store at 405 N. Grant St. and bought a copy of an area newspaper. He then showed the clerk a knife taped to his left hand and demanded money, police said. He forced the clerk to the floor and fled the store, police said.

He was seen leaving in a dark red, mid-1990s Chevrolet Blazer that was parked on the north side of the store, police said.

He was described as a thin white male, about 6 feet tall in his early to mid-30s with black hair, a mustache and goatee. He was dressed in hunting clothes, police said.
