Hagerstown High grads plan reunion in Florida

November 09, 2004

Members of the Hagerstown High School Class of 1953 now living in Florida invite their classmates - and anyone who attended Hagerstown High between 1950 and 1956 - to an informal luncheon in January.

The event will be held Saturday, Jan. 29, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Rolling Hills Country Club in Longwood, Fla., 12 miles east of Orlando.

Classmates are urged to spread the word to all who plan to be in Florida at that time.

Reservations are required. Members of the class of '53 and their guests will be given priority up to Dec. 15, then all reservations will be accepted up to the Jan. 15 deadline, as space permits. About 90 people can be accommodated.

There will be no program and no speakers - just you, your fellow HHSers, fun, fellowship and food. M.F. Kershner, the host, will provide 1950s music in the background. Bring your HHS pictures, scrapbooks, yearbooks, smiles, and a mate or friend.

The meal will cost $12, including tax and tip, payable in advance.

The entres will be a choice of sliced roast beef au jus or chicken parmesan; along with herb roasted potatoes and green beans.

Entre ID cards and name tags with large letters will be provided upon arrival.

Mail checks, made out to M.F. Kershner and marked for "Fla. HHS Gathering 05," to M.F. Kershner, 305 Nelson Ave., Longwood, FL 32750-6733, to arrive before the Jan. 15 deadline.
