Magnolia Management


Magnolia Management recently signed a long-term contract with Genesis HealthCare to manage Avalon Manor Health Care in Hagerstown.

Avalon Manor Health Care has a bed capacity of 170.

Genesis HealthCare is the largest provider of post-acute care, long-term care and rehabilitation therapy services in Maryland with more than 30 facilities. Genesis operates 215 skilled nursing and assisted-living centers in 12 states and provides contract rehabilitation therapy to more than 700 health-care providers in 20 states.




Washington County Community Mediation Center


The offices of the Washington County Community Mediation Center have moved from the Keedysville Community Center to Hagerstown, effective Oct. 25.

The new offices are at 101 Summit Ave., which also houses the offices of the Community Action Council.

The center provides free mediation services to the residents of Washington County.

MANITOWOC, Wis. - The Manitowoc Co. recently reported strong increases in sales and earnings for the quarter ended Sept. 30.

Net sales increased 21 percent to $491 million, from $407 million during the same period last year. Net earnings for the third quarter were $12.7 million, or 47 cents per diluted share, up 77 percent from earning of $7.2 million, or 27 cents per diluted share, in the third quarter of 2003.

Earnings from continuing operations in the third quarter increased 62 percent to $13.1 million, or 48 cents per diluted share, from $8.1 million, or 30 cents per diluted share, in the same period last year.

The Manitowoc Co. is the parent company of Grove Worldwide in Shady Grove, Pa.
