Proposal includes four new schools

Under a proposal adopted by the Washington County Board of Education on Wednesday:

· A new high school and a new elementary school would be built near the current Eastern Elementary School, at an estimated cost of about $54 million.

· A new elementary school would be built in the Saint James area at a cost of about $17.6 million.

· A new Maugansville Elementary School would be constructed larger than planned, increasing the estimated cost from about $14 million to about $20 million

· An expansion of Salem Avenue Elementary School would be more extensive than proposed, increasing the estimated project cost by $1.1 million to $13 million.
