Banister places fourth in league meet
GREENSBORO, N.C. - Shenandoah University freshman Lindsey Banister finished fourth in the All-USA South cross country meet Saturday to complete an eventful week.
The Clear Spring graduate was selected to the All-USA South first team last week.
Banister ran a 26:52 to top Shenandoah's top individual finish in its eight years in the event.
Banister will compete in the NCAA South-Southeast Regionals in Atlanta on Nov. 13.

HCC wins Region XX tourney
CATONSIVLLE, Md. - Hagerstown Community College, fighting out of the losers' bracket, beat Catonsville twice Saturday - 30-24, 30-23, 30-23 and 30-28, 30-32, 30-27, 30-26 - to win the Region XX tournament title and a berth at nationals, Nov. 11-13, in Toledo, Ohio.
Tournament MVP Keri Jackson had 32 digs, 38 kills and five blocks for the Hawks (29-7). Megan Miller had 48 digs, 35 kills and four blocks for HCC, while Ashley Michael had five blocks, Staci Grabill had 94 assists, Katie Spoonire had 28 kills and 10 blocks and Savanah Wetzel had 51 digs.
