The Wilts

Glenn "Bud" and Dottie Wilt celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, April 2, 2004, at a surprise party at Wilson Ruritan Club, hosted by their children and spouses, Ron and Debby Bolden, Brenda Williams, Pam and Steve Estep, Christie and Scot Poffenberger and Brent and Shannon Wilt. Approximately 60 family members and friends attended the party.

The Wilts were married April 3, 1954, at Otterbein United Methodist Church in Hagerstown.

Glenn Wilt is employed restoring stone work along the C&O Canal for the National Park Service.

The Wilts have four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The Millses

John and Ruth Mills of Clear Spring observed their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004. A celebration was held Sunday, Sept. 26, at Four Points Sheraton, hosted by their son and his wife, Greg and Sandy Mills, and two grandchildren.

The Millses were married in 1954 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Clear Spring by the Rev. L. Stanley Whitson.


Mrs. Mills is the former Ruth Delores Shank, daughter of the late Paul and Meta Shank. She retired from Washington County Board of Education.

Mr. Mills is the son of the late John W. and Alma Ruth Mills. He served in the U.S. Army, 10th Division, 148th Regiment, Company K. He retired from Dewey Jordan Inc., in Frederick, Md.
