October 22, 2004

A Hagerstown man pleaded guilty to armed robbery Thursday in Washington County Circuit Court, but his sentence was delayed pending the outcome of an unrelated case, according to court documents and a court clerk.

Monroe Anthony Myers, 23, whose last known address was 828 Virginia Ave. in Hagerstown, pleaded guilty to the charge in connection with a Sept. 5, 2003 incident in which a car was stolen by force from a man in a parking lot on East Avenue in Hagerstown, according to charging documents.

On Sept. 5, 2003, police were called to a parking lot near 124 East Ave., where a man there said he had been ordered at gunpoint to hand over his money, his cell phone and the keys to his brother's car, which was parked in the lot, according to charging documents. The victim later identified through a photograph array that Myers was the man who robbed him with the gun, according to charging documents.
