Walk to benefit Lou Gehrig's research

October 12, 2004

CLEAR SPRING - A walk to raise funds to aid in the search for Lou Gehrig's disease will begin in the Clear Spring Middle School parking lot Saturday, Oct. 23.

Registration is at 9 a.m. and the walk through Clear Spring will begin at 10 a.m.

For donation forms and envelopes to walk for the Paul's Pride team, contact Paula Myers at 301-0842-3081. Paul R. Myers died of the disease.

Lou Gehrig's disease is the common name for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a fatal disease that progresses through the body's nervous system and affects muscle coordination. The famous ballplayer for whom it was named died of the disease.

A pledge of $75 will earn a short-sleeved T-shirt; $150 is good for a long-sleeved T-shirt; and $500 gets the donor a fleece blanket.
