Brush, bulk trash pickup dates set

SHARPSBURG - Sharpsburg will have a brush pickup and a bulk trash pickup in November, Mayor Hal Spielman said.

Brush should be set out by the alley, or along the street if there is no alley by the home, by 8 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, Spielman said.

Bulk trash should be set out by 6 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, Spielman said.

Tires, flammable materials and items with Freon, such as air conditioners and refrigerators, cannot be set out, Spielman said.

Spielman said the town will pay $50 per ton and $55 per personnel hour for the bulk trash pickup.

Vice Mayor Ralph Hammond said town officials should watch out for people from out of town dropping off trash.

Bulk trash pickup occurs on a regular trash pickup day so there probably will be two truck runs, one for regular trash and one for bulk trash, town officials said.
