Pa. man killed in accident today


ANTRIM TOWNSHIP, Pa. - A Chambersburg man died this morning after the 1995 Ford Explorer he was driving rolled and slid along Interstate 81, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Robert Wolfe, 62, was driving north on I-81 around 1:35 a.m. when the Explorer went into the median just north of mile marker 5 near the Maryland state line, police said.

The Explorer traveled in the median for about 365 feet, then swerved across the northbound lanes before rolling and sliding approximately 306 feet to rest on its roof, police said.

Wolfe died at the scene.

No further information was available.

Sheriff's deputies respond to calls


The Washington County Sheriff's Department responded to the following calls:

· The front windshield was reported shot out of a delivery truck at Hopewell Sheet Metal, 11316 Hopewell Road, at 10 a.m. on Tuesday. Damage to the 2002 Mack was estimated at $400.

· A black Mongoose 20-inch freestyle bike was reported stolen at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday from the 16800 block of Alcott Road southwest of Hagerstown. The bike was worth $150.

· A briefcase containing items including a wallet, map and fuel cards was reported stolen this morning at 1:30 from a 1997 Freightliner at Freightliner of Hagerstown, 11611 Hopewell Road.

· A 1999 Pontiac Grand Am was broken into overnight in the 11400 block of Englewood Road in Greenberry Hills southwest of Hagerstown. The incident was reported at 7 a.m. today.
