Contractor to begin working on parts of roads soon

October 03, 2004

Portions of Northern Avenue, South Cannon Avenue and Wesel Boulevard will be milled and/or paved in the next two weeks, according to a City of Hagerstown statement.

The work on Northern Avenue from Fountainhead Road to Pennsylvania Avenue tentatively is scheduled to begin Monday, weather permitting.

Work could begin Tuesday on South Cannon Avenue from Franklin Street to Mill Street.

Wesel Boulevard will be done from South Burhans Boulevard to the new Lowe's distribution center.

City officials are advising drivers to watch for detours, altered traffic patterns and manholes and valves that might stand above the pavement surface after the roads are milled.

Residents along these streets can photograph the condition of the curbs along their properties in case they are damaged by the work, according to the statement.
