Elmer W.F. Miller, 70

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Elmer W.F. "Sam" Miller, 70, of 4964 Wright Road, died Friday, Oct. 1, 2004, at his home.

Born Sept. 10, 1934, in Fayetteville, he was the son of the late John Franklin and Ella May Ritter Miller.

He was a graduate of the former Chambersburg High School.

He worked as a mechanic at Letterkenny Army Depot, retiring in 1993 after 27 years of service.

He was a member of the Y Hunting Club.

He is survived by his wife, Erma C. Pogue Miller, whom he married Aug. 8, 1954; one daughter, Deborah A. Miller of St. Thomas, Pa.; one son, Terry R. Miller of Shippensburg, Pa.; two sisters, Nora M. Miller and Peggy J. McKnight, both of Fayetteville; one brother, Donald Miller of Fayetteville; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, John W. Miller, and an infant brother.

Services will be Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg. The Rev. George S. Mouer Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

APRIL 29, 1915-SEPT. 29, 2004

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. - Ida Florence Miller, 89, of 306 Pheasant Run, and formerly of Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2004, at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Fla.

Born April 29, 1915, in Keedysville, she was the daughter of the late Harry Sylvester and Betty Elizabeth Lohman Churchey.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Maxwell Miller Sr., in 1989.

She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church, where she was a member of Seeker's Sunday school class.

She is survived by one granddaughter, Christine Reed of Ponte Vedra Beach; one grandson, Robert Miller of Houston; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Ralph M. Miller Jr.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown. The Rev. Louis L. Emerick will officiate. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Sharpsburg.

The family will receive friends Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Joseph D. Miller, 84, of 11678 Wharf Road, died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004, at Chambersburg (Pa.) Hospital.

Born May 12, 1920, in Franklin County, Pa., he was the son of the late Merle C. and Ruth L. Oberholzer Miller.

He attended Quincy Township schools.

He was employed as a fruit horticulturist by local orchards until his retirement in 1981.

He attended Antrim Assembly of God Church in Greencastle, Pa.

He was a member of the Pennsylvania Fruit Association.

He is survived by his wife, Martha G. Bartles Miller, whom he married June 28, 1941; one daughter, Shelva J. Martin of Lyons, Ga.; one sister, Arlene Newcomer of Waynesboro; two brothers, Edward A. Miller of Greencastle, and Walter J. Miller of Waynesboro; three grandsons; four great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Lois Stoops, and two brothers, Thomas E. Miller and Zane A. Miller.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Antrim Assembly of God Church, Greencastle. The Rev. Rodger Berkey will officiate. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro.




Barbara R. Huntzberry, 66


JULY 18, 1938-SEPT. 30, 2004

FAIRPLAY - Barbara R. Huntzberry, 66, of 17820 Spielman Road, died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004, at Washington County Hospital.

Born July 18, 1938, in Tilghmanton, she was the daughter of the late Everett Lawrence and Dorothy Leona Mongan Smith.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Eastern Star Olive Branch 34.

She was a member of Manor Church of the Brethren in Boonsboro.

She is survived by her husband, Robert L. Huntzberry Sr., whom she married Sept. 30, 1955; four children, daughter, Mary H. Coleman of Chesapeake, Va., son, Robert L. Huntzberry Jr. of Severn, Md., son, Gerald L. Huntzberry of Fairplay, and daughter, Kathy A. Baker of Lappans; two sisters, Carol A. Forcino of Boonsboro, and Dorothy M. Isard of Hagerstown; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a baby sister, Alice Smith.

Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Bast Funeral Home, Boonsboro. The Rev. Joy E. Zepp will officiate.

There will be no burial.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
