Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Shippensburg. Pastors Ruth Huffman and Clarence Hurd will officiate. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg, with military services by Shippensburg VFW and American Legion posts.

Family will receive friends Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m. at People's Tabernacle Church, Hagerstown, and from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Gertrude B. Lowery, 87

JAN. 12, 1917-SEPT. 25, 2004

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Gertrude B. Lowery, 87, of Charles Town, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004, at Shenandoah Health Village Center in Charles Town.

Born Jan. 12, 1917, in Stafford Springs, Conn., she was the daughter of the late Eugene P. and Aurora Dumas Bebeau.


Her husband, Theodore A. Lowery, died in 1994.

She was a graduate of Stafford College, and a 1937 graduate of University of Minnesota.

She taught school in Page County, Va.

She was a member of St. James Catholic Church and the Sodality Group and Women of the Church.

She was a former member of Charles Town Women's Club.

She is survived by two sons, Theodore A. Lowery Jr. of Charles Town and John E. Lowery of Shepherdstown, W.Va.; one sister, Nancy Brunschwig of Miami; one brother, Dr. E.R. Bebeau of Beaumont, Texas; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church in Charles Town, with the Rev. George W. Pucciarelli as celebrant. Burial will be in Edge Hill Cemetery in Charles Town.

Friends will be received at the church Wednesday at 10 a.m.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 122 Waverly Court, Martinsburg, WV 25401.

Arrangements are by Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town.

Mary T. Curley, 76

APRIL 22, 1928-SEPT. 26, 2004

SPRINGFIELD, W.Va. - Mary Theresa Curley, 76, of Springfield, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 2004, at her home.

Born April 22, 1928, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late William E. and Mary J. Barber Davis.

Her husband, Benton Bernard Curley Sr., died in 1994.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, LaRue Wingler of Springfield and Eleanor Locke of Martinsburg, W.Va.; three sons, Benton B. Curley Jr. of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Robert A. Curley of Washington State and Steven F. Curley of York, Pa.; five sisters; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.

Graveside services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Williamsport. Pastor Curt Lowry will officiate.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, Williamsport.
