A man asking for a cigarette this morning allegedly showed a handgun and robbed another man in the area of Washington and Antietam streets, according to Hagerstown Police Department Sgt. Curt Wood.
At about 3:52 a.m., the 24-year-old victim stepped outside and was approached by two white men and a white woman, Wood said in a news release.
A white man wearing a gray sweat suit then asked the victim if he could have a cigarette, but the victim told him that he didn't smoke, Wood said.
The robber then demanded all of the victim's money while showing a black handgun, Wood said in the release. He said the victim handed over an undisclosed amount of money.
