Shelter increases volunteer staff

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - The Waynesboro New Hope Shelter has increased its volunteer staff, the shelter announced in a news release.

- Judy Heefner, a resident of Greencastle, Pa., will handle public relations for the shelter.

- Glennis Maya, of Waynesboro, has volunteered her architectural services to help convert the second floor of the shelter into transitional apartments, the release said.

The shelter, at 25 S. Potomac St., currently houses 32 residents, including 13 children.

The shelter will host a fund-raising bowl-a-thon on Oct. 9 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Lincoln Lanes in Chambersburg, Pa. Anyone interested in making a donation or participating in the event can call 717-762-5840.
