Woman's bond set in drug case

Washington County District Judge Ralph H. France II set bond at $100,000 during a hearing Monday for a Hagerstown woman charged with more than 10 drug offenses, court records state.

Joanne M. Ferro, 19, whose last known address was 116 N. Mulberry St., was charged with possession of and possession with intent to distribute cocaine, marijuana, hallucinogenic mushrooms and prescription drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining a common nuisance and possession of narcotics with intent to distribute, records state.

The Hagerstown Police Department alleges that drugs, scales and nearly $4,800 in cash were found in a bedroom where Ferro had been residing at 225 East Ave., on Aug. 13. She had been living there for less than two months at the time, police said.

Police allege officers also found drugs in the kitchen and basement.

The investigation began after a resident at the house, Trent A. Wolfkill, died while in possession of crack cocaine, according to court records.

Ferro was being held at the Washington County Detention Center Monday, a detention center spokeswoman said.
