BALTIMORE - South Hagerstown's game at Archbishop Spalding on Friday was suspended by severe weather with 2:38 left in the first quarter. Neither team scored before play was stopped.

The game will be resumed either today or Monday, but the decision had not been made at press time.

Vikings' game suspended in first quarter

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. - Friday night's game between St. John's at Prospect Hall and Riverdale Baptist was suspended due to severe weather with the Vikings leading 8-0 at the 6:58 mark of the first quarter.

SJPH scored early when Keith Ricca hooked up with Max Morris for an 11-yard touchdown pass. Ricca hit Scott Ritter for the two-point conversion.

The game will resume Monday at 7 p.m.


No. 4 Greencastle 3, Fairfield 0

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Mandi Mentzer had 14 service points and 22 digs as Greencastle swept Fairfield, 25-13, 25-21, 25-20.


Jessica Ritchey had 22 digs and 12 kills, Michelle Negley had 10 service points and 21 digs and Jade Dunhour had 17 assists for the Blue Devils (6-1). Whitney Myers and Maxie George each had nine digs and Emily Wissinger had eight.

JV: Greencastle 2, Fairfield 1.

McConnellsburg 3, Chestnut Ridge 0

FISHERTOWN, Pa. - Dani Paruch had 13 blocks and Trisha Seiders added seven kills and eight blocks as McConnellsburg swept Chestnut Ridge 25-18, 25-23, 25-9 on Thursday.

Gretchen Swope had eight kills, Emile Ott had 27 assists and Cherina Strait served 12 straight points in the third game for the Spartans (3-1).

No. 10 South 3, Middletown 1

South Hagerstown remained unbeaten through four contests with a 25-12, 25-20, 21-25, 28-26 victory on Thursday.

Brittany Hyatt had 40 assists and 13 service points, Caitlin Nicewarner had 12 kills, Chelsea Weaver had 21 service points and 10 kills and Lindsay Steiner added nine kills and six service points for South.
