Air Force Airman Richard J. Saunders, the son of Richard Saunders Jr. of Hagerstown and Deborah Mumaw of Greencastle, Pa., has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. Saunders is a 2001 graduate of South Hagerstown High School.




Air Force Reserve Airman 1st Class Tabita Enciu, daughter of Nicanor and Antonina Enciu of Hagerstown, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. Enciu is a 1999 graduate of James M. Bennett Senior High School, Salisbury, Md.




Pfc. Andrew Lynn, son of James and Linda Lynn of Hagerstown, graduated in October 2003 from Infantry School at Fort Benning, Ga. Lynn is stationed at Fort Lewis, Wash., and is deployed to Iraq serving with the U.S. Army with the Stryker Brigade Combat Team (SBCT). He is a 2003 graduate of North Hagerstown High School.




Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Jason S. Jacobs, son of Dawn M. and James R. Mathis of Harpers Ferry, W. Va., and his shipmates recently participated in the Navy's largest deployment evolution, Summer Pulse 2004, while assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp, homeported in Norfolk, Va. A 2000 graduate of Jefferson High School in Shenandoah Junction, W. Va., he joined the Navy in December 2000.

Marine Corps Pfc. Nathan E. Socks, son of Judy A. Snyder of Myersville, Md., and Rick Socks of Hagerstown, recently completed the Electro Optical Ordnance Maintenance Technician Course. Socks is a 2001 graduate of Middletown High School in Middletown, Md. He joined the Marine Corps in February 2004.




Marine Corps Cpl. Johnny L. McCalom, son of Glenda I. McCalom of Chambersburg, Pa., and more than 2,000 Marines and sailors assigned to the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), recently began the process of ensuring security and stability in the central Iraqi province of Northern Babil. A 1988 graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School, he joined the Marine Corps in March 1990.




Marine Corps Cpl. Paul L. Hoopengardner Jr., son of Tina L. and Paul L. Hoopengardner of Brunswick, Md., and more than 2,000 Marines and sailors assigned to the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), recently began the process of ensuring security and stability in the central Iraqi province of Northern Babil. A 2000 graduate of Brunswick High School, he joined the Marine Corps in July 2000.

Boyce of Frederick, Md., and more than 2,000 Marines and sailors assigned to the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), recently began the process of ensuring security and stability in the central Iraqi province of Northern Babil.

Boyce, a 2002 graduate of Frederick High School, joined the Marine Corps in October 2002.
