WESTMINSTER, Md. - Kim Sullivan and Jenny Nalley each had 15 service points to lead Smithsburg to a season-opening sweep of Winters Mill, 25-18, 25-15, 25-15.

Sullivan added eight kills and Molly Powell had 11 assists for the Leopards (1-0).

Boonsboro 3, Brunswick 0

BOONSBORO - Jessie Ambrose had 21 points, 15 assists and eight kills as Boonsboro swept Brunswick, 25-5, 25-6, 25-9.

Tara Garver had 13 assists and five kills, Caitlyn Selby had nine kills and Jerica Hewett added seven for the Warriors (3-0).

Williamsport 3, North Carroll 0

WILLIAMSPORT - Sammi Snodderly had 26 digs and 15 kills as Williamsport swept North Carroll, 25-13, 25-14, 25-11, in an MVAL non-division matchup.


Lea Drury had 17 assists and six aces and Lauren Brown added six kills for the Wildcats (2-1).

Clear Spring 3, Hancock 1

CLEAR SPRING - Ashley Crist had 18 service points and 17 assists to lead Clear Spring past Hancock, 25-19, 25-19, 21-25, 25-21.

Katie Reichard had 15 service points and five kills, Amber Hendershot had 13 service points and Christine Burgesser had seven kills for the Blazers (2-2).

Jenna Demory had 10 points and 17 assists, while Amber Moats added seven kills and seven points for the Panthers (0-4). JV: Clear Spring, 25-20, 25-11.

South 3, Century 1

Jamie Fowler had 22 service points and six kills while Brittany Hyatt added 19 assists and seven sevice points to lead South Hagerstown to a 25-19, 22-25, 25-18, 25-19 win over Century.

Lindsey Steiner added seven kills and four service points for the Rebels (3-0). JV: South, 2-1.

Grace 3, Calvary 0

Megan Cox and Katie Kendall each had 10 service points as Grace Academy remained undefeated with a Mason Dixon Christian Conference win over Calvary Christian, 25-21, 25-13, 25-22.

Kendall had 14 digs, Cox had eight kills and Kristin Serafini had 12 assists for the Knights (5-0, 5-0).

CVCS 3, Fannett-Metal 2

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - After dropping the first two games, Cumberland Valley Christian roared back to win the last three to knock off Fannett-Metal, 17-25, 15-25, 25-17, 25-21, 15-12.

Molly Brookens led the way for the Blazers (5-1) with 18 service points, 14 assists and six digs, while Shaina Liddick added 17 kills and five blocks.

Maggie Brookens had 11 service points and 10 kills and Lauren Peterson had seven blocks in the win.

Heritage 3, New Life 1

Whitney Schlimgen had 19 points, 19 digs and 11 aces for Heritage Academy as the Eagles beat New Life 20-25, 26-24, 25-20, 26-24 in the MDCC Conference. Heather Stamper added 18 kills for the Eagles (5-2, 4-2) while Jessica Thurber had 12 assists.

Jefferson 3, Goretti 1

Megan Cashdollar had 10 assists and five aces while Jessica Myers had five kills for St. Maria Goretti as the Gaels lost 25-11, 21-25, 25-14, 25-18 to Jefferson.

Greencastle 3, Steel-High 0

STEELTON, Pa. - Jade Dunhour led Greencastle to a 25-8, 25-5, 25-14 win over Steel-High with eight set assists. Mandi Mentzer added 16 points for the Blue Devils, while Brittany Main had seven digs. JV: Greencastle, 25-8, 25-9.

McConnellsburg 3, Tussey Mtn. 0

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Cherina Strait had 10 kills and eight service points for McConnellsburg in its 25-7, 25-5, 25-15 sweep of Tussey Mountain. Trisha Seiders added 10 service points for the Spartans (2-1) while Emily Ott added 24 assists.

Urbana 3, Catoctin 1

IJAMSVILLE, Md. - Monie Cuddahee had 10 assists and seven kills for Catoctin as the Cougars were defeated by Urbana, 16-25, 25-14, 25-17, 25-20. Renee Seiss added 13 digs for the Cougars while Becky Cuddahee had three aces. JV: Urbana 25-12, 25-16.

James Buchanan 3, West Perry 0

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Ashleigh Helfrick had seven kills, 16 service points and five aces for James Buchanan as the Rockets swept West Perry 25-12, 25-9, 25-7 in the Mid-Penn Colonial League. Leslie Serrano had seven kills and four blocks for the Rockets (4-1, 1-1) while Erica Helfrick had 20 assists and Tiff Hunsberger had 20 digs.


Boonsboro 9, South 0

BOONSBORO - Jake Munson, Tyler McKenrick and Eric Fries each scored two goals, while Dan Tonetti, Aaron Pearson and Nick Stenersen each had two assists as Boonsboro routed South Hagerstown.

Tonetti, Keisuke Matsuno and Ryan Alick each added goals for the Warriors (4-0), who outshot the Rebels, 22-2. Scott Hart and Randy Jarrett had assists in the win.

South was without standout goalie Stephen Ampadu due to undisclosed reasons. JV: Boonsboro 9, South 0.

Potomac 2, St. James 0

ST. JAMES - Nate Venditta had 11 saves for St. James (2-1-1, 1-1-1) as the Saints lost to Potomac in the MAC Conference. A.J. Premkumar and Zsolt Harsanyi each scored for Potomac (1-2, 1-0).

Middletown 3, Catoctin 0

THURMONT, Md. - Bobby Buckheit and Matt Uchino each scored unassited and Ben McMunn scored on an assist from Kenneth Vandre as Middletown (3-2) blanked Catoctin.

Bryan Bello recorded his first shutout of the season.

Steven Hanes recorded nine saves for the Cougars (0-4).
