7 p.m. on Cinemax

"Ferry Tales"

Each workday finds thousands of commuters headed from Staten Island to Manhattan on the ferries that cross New York harbor (just as Melanie Griffith did in "Working Girl"). For some of the women who take the 8:15 boat, as filmmaker Katja Esson shows here, the women's restroom has become an oasis, the meeting site for an all-purpose support group.

10 p.m. on AMC

"Rated R: Republicans in Hollywood"

We heard a lot about Hollywood's liberal bent. But filmmaker Jesse Moss finds an "emerging conservative movement" that goes beyond the election of Arnold Schwarzenegger.

10 p.m. on HBO

"Nine Innings From Ground Zero"

Traumatized after 9/11, New York took solace in baseball, which went on somewhat as usual. And when the Yankees made it to the World Series (again), it was another sign that things might return to normal.
