Service Academy Night planned

FREDERICK, Md. - U.S. Rep. Roscoe Bartlett, R-Md., will host an Academy Night information session about the U.S. service academies for high school students and their parents on Sept. 20.

The session will be held at 6 p.m. at the Jack B. Kussmaul Theater at Frederick Community College at 7932 Opossumtown Pike (Motter Avenue/Opossumtown Pike exit off U.S. 15).

Students apply directly to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn.

The presentation portion of the program will run from 7 to 8:30 p.m., followed by general audience questions and answers.

Between 6 and 7 p.m. and after the general Q&A session, students and parents will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with academy representatives as well as parents of current students from the West Point Parents Club for Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Virginia, and the Air Force Parents Club for Maryland, the District and Virginia. Light refreshments will be served.
