WESTMINSTER, Md. - Justin Thompson rushed for 114 yards and two touchdowns Friday night as Smithsburg won 22-7 over Winters Mill (0-2).

Matt Thompson had 53 receiving yards and a touchdown for the Leopards (2-0), while Josh Daniels passed for 128 yards.

Frederick 28, Aberdeen 13

ABERDEEN, Md. - Bruce Dorsey ran for 188 yards and two touchdowns as Frederick pounded out 310 yards on the ground to roll past Aberdeen (1-1).

Cory Rhodes threw for one touchdown and ran for another, accounting for 148 total yards.

Martinsburg 42, Westminster 17

WESTMINSTER, Md. - Martinsburg (3-0) broke away from a slim 14-10 halftime lead with a four-touchdown second half to throttle Westminster.

Nate Sowers completed 12 of 17 passes for 160 yards and a touchdown, ran for 95 yards and three touchdowns and also intercepted two Westminster (1-1) passes.


Sowers scored on a 15-yard run in the first period and gave the Bulldogs a 21-10 lead with a 5-yard run in the third period. He capped the evening with a 31-yard run in the fourth period, in which Martinsburg scored three times.

Sophomore Josh Tywman ran 11 times for 69 yards for Martinsburg and Ryan Miller caught four passes, including a 29-yard scoring reception in the fourth quarter.

Brunswick 28, Walkersville 14

WALKERSVILLE, Md. - Eric Zwilsky accounted for 365 total yards, including a school-record 310 yards rushing, and two touchdowns to lead Brunswick over Walkersville (0-2).

Aaron Main passed for 132 yards and one touchdown for the Railroaders (1-1), while Cory Hargett recorded 13 tackles.

St. Vincent Pallotti 36 St. John's at Prospect Hall 0

LAUREL, Md. - St. Vincent Pallotti (3-0) built a 30-0 halftime lead and cruised to the win over St.John's at Prospect Hall (1-1).

Keith Ricca completed 18 passes for 175 yards and was intercepted once for the Vikings. Harley Brooks caught six passes for 61 yards for St. John's-PH, while John O'Donoghue had five receptions for 60 and Randal Smedley caught two for 21.

Palmyra 29, Greencastle 15

PALMYRA, Pa. - Palmyra led 17-7 at halftime and held on for a Mid-Penn nondivision win over Greencastle-Antrim.

Blake Border was 14 of 29 passing for 206 yards and two touchdowns for the Blue Devils (1-1). Erick Burkholder, who had five catches for 124 yards, caught both TDs.

Joppatowne 34, Catoctin 0

JOPPA, Md. - Kenny Getzendanner rushed for 48 yards for the Cougars (1-1) as they were shut out by defending Class 1A champion Joppatowne (2-0).

Whitney Schlimgen had 22 digs, Meredith Johnson had 16 digs and Heather Stamper added four blocks as Heritage Academy beat Shalom Christian 25-22, 25-22, 17-25, 25-19 in the MDCC.

Mercersburg 3, Madeira 1

McLEAN, Va. - Jessica Miga had 13 kills for Mercersburg Academy as the Blue Storm beat Madeira 19-25, 25-21, 25-22, 25-9. Also for the Blue Storm (1-0) Cree Riley had four aces and 10 service points, Liz Harvey had nine set assists and Liddy Miga had five digs.

SHENANDOAH JUNCTION, W.Va - Brian Wenner and Matt Speaker each scored for Jefferson as they shutout Williamsport. Andrew McKee had six saves for the Cougars (4-0-1) in the win. JV: Jefferson 4, Williamsport 0.

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Johna Piter scored three goals, while Sam Dishnesky and Kiara Lewis each added a goal for Middletown.


Shepherd 2, Marymount 1

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va - Mitchell Gore and Adam Sperry each scored for Shepherd as the Rams edged out Marymount. Robert Pence recorded six saves for the Rams (3-1-1).
