Woman dies from injuries sustained in Thursday crash

FREDERICK, Md. - An 18-year-old Woodsboro, Md., woman died Friday from injuries received in an accident that happened Thursday in Frederick County, the Frederick County Sheriff's Office said.

Police said Holly Ann Summers, of 307 S. Main St. in Woodsboro, died at University of Maryland Shock Trauma in Baltimore at 4:45 p.m.

The accident happened at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at the intersection of Dublin and Gravel Hill roads, police said.

Police said Summers, driving a 1998 Dodge Neon, pulled out from a stop sign in front of a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta driven by Joshua Thomas Wack, 29, of 2157 Bristol Drive in Frederick.

The cars collided, with Summers' car being struck on the driver's side, police said.

Summers and her passenger, a 17-year-old male from Woodsboro, were flown to University of Maryland Shock Trauma, police said.

Wack and his passenger, Ryan Robert Zinkham, 28, of Indiana, Pa., refused treatment at the scene, police said.
