Maugansville Pride Day


Sponsored by the Maugansville Ruritan Club. Opening ceremonies today at 9 a.m. Heavenly Harmony will perform at 9:30 a.m. and Hagerstown Country Western Dance Association will perform at 10:30 a.m. Food will be sold. Maugansville Ruritan Community Park.




Interstate Coin Show

Country Roads Folk Festival


John McCutcheon will perform. There also will be traditional and contemporary folk, music from the heart of Europe, American blues, Celtic and Celtic folk rock music and the music and comedy of Christine Lavin. The day also includes workshops, a barn dance and a tribute to John Denver. Children's programs


Two ranger-led programs for visitors in the fifth grade or older will be held today at Antietam National Battlefield.

- Angels of the Battlefield - A role-playing activity in which youngsters will re-create the Battle of Antietam and will dramatize medical care, field hospitals and Clara Barton's role as a nurse.

- Battlefield in a Box - A ranger will lay out a large map on the ground that shows the roads, bridges and other features of the battlefield. Groups of children can move around the map to illustrate the movements of troops during the battle.

The programs begin at 1 p.m. and last about two hours. Antietam National Battlefield Visitor Center, Md. 65, Sharpsburg. If it rains, the programs will be canceled. Call 301-432-5124.




Corn maze


This year's maze will feature crazy crop circles. Today and Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m. Renfrew Museum, Waynesboro, Pa. $6, adults; $4, ages 4 to 12; free for ages 3 and younger.




Marine Band


The U.S. Marine Band's Free Country will perform. Bring a blanket or chair and insect repellent. No rain dates are scheduled. No alcoholic beverages are permitted.
