Lenora V. Gladwin, 90


JAN. 9, 1914-AUG. 28, 2004

WILLIAMSPORT - Lenora Virginia Gladwin, 90, formerly of Burnside Avenue, died Saturday, Aug. 28, 2004, at Homewood Retirement Center in Williamsport.

Born Jan. 9, 1914, in Morgantown, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late John Scott and Stella Twyford Lantz.

Her husband, Frederic James Gladwin, died in 1989.

She was a graduate of Hagerstown High School, attended Wilson College in Chambersburg, Pa., and graduated from Stone College in New Haven, Conn.

She was employed as church secretary at John Wesley United Methodist Church in Hagerstown for 18 years.

She was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church, and Circle No. Two of United Methodist Women.

She was a member of West Virginia Society of Hagerstown, Hagerstown Women's Club, and Volunteer Fire Co. of Halfway Auxiliary.

She is survived by her daughter, Mariam G. Fearer of Annapolis; two sons, James T. Gladwin of Fairfax, Va., and John F. Gladwin of Raleigh, N.C.; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Monday, Sept. 13, at 11 a.m. at John Wesley United Methodist Church in Hagerstown. The Revs. Kenneth S. Valentine and L. Patrick Ricker will officiate. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Scholarship Fund of John Wesley United Methodist Church, 129 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown, MD 21740.

Arrangements are by Osborne Funeral Home in Williamsport.




Carol A. Murray, 65

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Carol A. Murray, 65, of 527 S. 4th St., died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, at her home.

Born May 16, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Maude E. Holtry Lawyer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Murray, in 2001.

She worked as a seamstress for Stanley Co. for 40 years.

She was a member of Chambersburg Open Door Church.

She was a member of Miniature Carousel Builders Club.

She is survived by one daughter, Cindy D. Murray of Chambersburg; two sons, Michael S. Murray and George M. Murray, both of Chambersburg; seven sisters, Annie L. Buck of Deltona, Fla., Margaret Clemmons of Claymont, Del., Linda Wickard of Newville, Pa., and Virginia Grove, Joyce Bohn, Jean Barrick and Judy Lawyer, all of Chambersburg; two brothers, Charles R. Lawyer of Chambersburg and Mark A. Lawyer of Fort McCord, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and her special friend, Ken Adams.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jacob Fahnestock and Edward G. Lawyer.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home in Chambersburg. The Rev. Art Brown and Pastor Carl McKee will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. The funeral home will open today at 2 p.m.

Virginia L. Unseld


The family of Virginia L. Unseld, 92, of 12 S. Walnut St., Hagerstown, who died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004, wish to add that she also was preceded in death by sisters, Anna Wine and Emma Johnson and brothers, Walter Wine and James Wine.




Norma J. Bailey-White, 67


FEB. 24, 1937-SEPT. 1, 2004

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Norma Jean Bailey-White, 67, of 5 S. Washington St., died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, at Waynesboro (Pa.) Hospital.

Born Feb. 24, 1937, in Athens, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Mason F. Bailey and Beathel Leoria Coburn Bailey Coburn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph White, in 1981.

She attended Athens schools.

She attended Antrim Assembly of God in Greencastle.

She is survived by two daughters, Diane Bailey of Greencastle and Dreama Shafer of Hagerstown; one sister, Darlene Summers of Greencastle; two brothers, Arthur Coburn of Greencastle and Roger Bailey of Princeton, W.Va.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Arthur Coburn Jr. and two sisters, Delores Thompson and Loraine Bailey.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Directory in Princeton, W.Va. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery in Princeton.

Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home in Greencastle.

Visitation also will be Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home in Princeton.




Judy D. Stotler, 55


JULY 5, 1949-SEPT. 1, 2004

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Judy D. Braithwaite Stotler, 55, of Berkeley Springs, died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, at her home.

Born July 5, 1949, in Clarksburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Leslie J. Dawson and Blanche M. Payne Dawson of Berkeley Springs.

She was a graduate of Shepherd College.

She retired as a seventh-grade language arts teacher in Morgan County, W.Va.
