GREENCASTLE, PA. - A 39-year-old Shippensburg, Pa., man died Thursday as the result of an industrial accident in a Greencastle manufacturing plant, borough police said Tuesday.

The victim was identified as Daniel L. Daily of 121 Newville Road. He was pronounced dead at Washington County Hospital.

According to police, Daily and another employee of Danco Products were removing a large cylinder from a parts rack.

Daily slipped as he stepped to a lower cylinder rack and fell backward.

According to police and Gordon Nenninger of Shippensburg, Daily's brother-in-law, Daily landed face-first on the handle of a hydraulic winch.

The accident occurred around 10:16 a.m. Thursday, police said.

Danco Products, of 411 S. Cedar Lane, makes rollback truck bodies.

Company President Dan Reynolds declined to comment Tuesday.

Daily is survived by his wife, Glenda, 44, and his father, James Daily of Union, Wash., Nenninger said.

Nenninger said Daily had only worked for Danco Products for about a month. He moved to Shippensburg from Washington four years ago to be with Glenda, he said. The couple was married two years ago, he said.

Private services for Daily will be held at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc. in Shippensburg at the convenience of the family.

Burial will be in Washington, Nenninger said.
