Washington County resident Marcellus Golden wanted to write a book.

He has. And he illustrated it, too.

"The Fabulous Crabulous Family in Pee-Wee Learns About Moving" is the 51-page story of a hermit crab family.

Golden said the book is the result of his desire to find a profession that would give him more time at home and an opportunity to share a "God-given message in his heart" to help children and families through a difficult time.

In the book, Pee-Wee, a small hermit crab, is sad because his family is going to move from the home where he is happy. By talking with his parents, Pee-Wee learns that although he doesn't want to be a "new crab in a new place," he will be with his family, and they can be happy wherever they go as long as they are together.

Golden plans to make a series of books, each dealing with a topic he hopes will initiate family conversation. His wants to strengthen family bonds by developing a sense of working together.

"The Fabulous Crabulous Family in Pee-Wee Learns About Moving" costs $9.95 and is available at Books'n Things, 1525 Potomac Ave. at Long Meadow Shopping Center in Hagerstown, Turn the Page Bookstore Cafe, 18 N. Main St. in Boonsboro and online at www.PublishAmerica.com.
