Back-to-School Prayer service slated


CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -The annual Back-to-School Prayer Service sponsored by the Chambersburg YMCA Christian Emphasis Committee will be held from Sunday from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Chambersburg Area Middle School.

This program will consist of a self-guided prayer walk through the school, with participants stopping in various areas of the school for prayer, according to the committee press release. The event is open to the public.




Martinsburg Police to run checkpoint


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - The Martinsburg Police Department will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Saturday and Sunday in the 600 block of Winchester Avenue (U.S. 11), according to a department news release.

The checkpoint will run from 10 p.m. Saturday until 3 a.m. Sunday, the release said.
