Condition of boy hit by car improves

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - The condition of a Quincy Township boy injured one week ago in a collision between a bicycle and a car has been upgraded from critical to fair, a spokeswoman at Hershey (Pa.) Medical Center said Wednesday.

Steven Fedoriw, 15, of 900 Anthony Highway, was injured in a 9:20 a.m. accident at the intersection of Pa. 997 and Nunnery Road, according to Pennsylvania State Police. Fedoriw was riding a bicycle east on Nunnery Road when he rode into the intersection and was hit by a southbound 2002 Nissan Altima driven by Corrine Killian, 33, of Chambersburg, Pa.

Fedoriw was flown by helicopter to Hershey, police said.

Man sought on bad check, drug charges

The Hagerstown Police Department is seeking the public's help in finding a man wanted on bad check and drug charges.

Matthew Paul Flaherty, 39, whose last known mailing address is 868 Virginia Ave., Hagerstown, is charged in three District Court arrest warrants with failure to appear in court, uttering a bad check and drug paraphernalia possession.


Police say Flaherty as a white male, 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 165 pounds.

Hagerstown Police respond to calls

The Hagerstown Police Department responded to the following calls since Tuesday, according to Sgt. Curt Wood:


· At 5:22 a.m., a 20-inch Next bicycle was reported found in the 200 block of Nottingham Road.


· At 9:28 a.m., a door to a property was reported damaged in the 200 block of Frederick Street.

· At 9:28 a.m., damage to a fence was reported in the 200 block of Frederick Street.

· At 11:04 p.m., the windshield of a car parked in the 900 block of Noland Drive was reported broken.

· At 12:48 p.m., domestic violence was reported in the 400 block of North Prospect Street.

· At 3:12 p.m., a 26-inch boys Freespirit bicycle was reported stolen in the 300 block of Reynolds Avenue.

· At 3:30 p.m., a Gucci necklace was reported stolen in the 900 block of Security Road.

· At 5:26 p.m., domestic violence was reported in the 500 block of North Mulberry Street.
