WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Adrienne Sussman recently completed a 10-week Research Training Program internship at Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.
Sussman, who attended Mercersburg (Pa.) Academy, is a sophomore at Simon's Rock College of Bard in Great Barrington, Mass., where she is majoring in biology.
She is the daughter of Andrew and Sally Sussman of Waynesboro.
Students are selected for the program from around the world through a competitive process. This year, 20 college students were selected from more than 200 applicants.
Adrienne Sussman's research project focused on the tri-colored squirrels of South East Asia, examining the relationship between coat pattern and skull morphology to determine if they are one or several separate species.
