Town Hall getting new air conditioning

August 18, 2004|by PEPPER BALLARD

FUNKSTOWN - A new air-conditioning unit will be installed at Funkstown Town Hall, the Funkstown Mayor and Town Council agreed Monday.

Barry Warrenfeltz, a member of the town's planning and zoning commission, told the council on Monday that he has experience with air-conditioning units and can spot a bad one when he sees it. He said he noticed a man fixing Town Hall's new copier because of a paper jam and said it may be related to too much humidity in the building. He said the air-conditioning unit is more than 20 years old and has leaky valves in its compressor.

He said he could install a new one for less than $1,500. After the council agreed to his request, Warrenfeltz said he would get started right away.
