One thing we like about these movies is that the nature of the threat is usually pretty clear. In this case, giant mutant fish climb out of the water and go after unlucky folks.

8 p.m. on ABC

"The Kid"

Unpleasant middle-aged guy (Bruce Willis) encounters kid (Spencer Breslin) who turns out to be his almost-8-year-old self. Doubtless there are lessons to be learned that go beyond the problem of getting the boy back to his right place in time.

8 p.m. on NBC

Summer Olympics

NBC is offering a bewildering array of coverage spread across various networks, but casual viewers can be sure of getting taped coverage of popular events during prime time. Tonight's lineup includes cycling, swimming, diving and gymnastics.
