CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A man shot outside a Guilford Township business Saturday night remained in critical condition Monday night at Hershey (Pa.) Medical Center, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Augustin Vazquez, age and address unavailable, was flown from Chambersburg Hospital to Hershey after being wounded in the 11:05 p.m. shooting outside La Guadalupana Mexican Store at 2138 Lincoln Way East, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Rodolfo Garcia-Reyes, age unavailable, of 830 Pleasant Valley Road, Biglerville, Pa., was charged with attempted homicide and aggravated assault, police said. He was arraigned late Sunday morning before District Justice Larry Pentz and was jailed without bond in Franklin County Prison.

The criminal complaint was later filed with District Justice Kelly Rock's office, whose jurisdiction includes Guilford Township, Pentz said.

Police went to the store after receiving a call about a fight involving several people and a firearm, according to the affidavit of probable cause. Vazquez was on the ground when police arrived, the affidavit stated.

The affidavit did not indicate what the fight was about. Cpl. Gary Carter said Sunday night that there was some kind of social gathering at the store at the time of the shooting.

A man who had gone to the store with Vazquez said Garcia-Reyes and Vazquez got into an argument that escalated into a fight. The witness told police that Garcia-Reyes pulled a handgun and shot Vazquez two or three times, according to allegations in the affidavit.

Garcia-Reyes and another man then left the store in a white or silver Lincoln Navigator, heading east on Lincoln Way East, the affidavit stated. The witness told police he knew where Garcia-Reyes lived in Adams County, Pa.

A preliminary hearing for Garcia-Reyes is scheduled for Aug. 17 in Franklin County Central Court, according to Rock's office.
